Small town in sweltering heat. A poisoned man. Time for a mushroom harvest.
Jaakko Kaunismaa is a 37-year-old mushroom entrepreneur in a small Finnish town. On an ordinary doctor’s visit for what Jaakko thinks is perhaps flu, he hears unexpected news: he is dying. Further tests confirm that he is a victim of a prolonged toxic exposure. In other words: someone is slowly but surely murdering him.
THE MAN WHO DIED is a thriller and a black comedy about life and death, love and betrayal. Tuomainen again gives us something new: this time humor tinged with the macabre.
THE MAN WHO DIED is Antti Tuomainen’s sixth novel. It will be published in Finland in September 2016.
